This Beirut poster is one of the most emotional pieces I've ever worked on.

It took me time, years of hesitation, to decide if I should sketch and share it with you. The memory of August 4, 2020 is still heavy, and always will be heavy memory to our hearts. But deep down, I felt this story needed to be told.

This memorial artwork is inspired by a real statue called “The Lady of the Port”, sculpted by Lebanese artist Hayat Nazer, a young woman who turned broken pieces into a message of hope. She used glass, metal, and fragments collected from the Beirut blast to build this powerful figure, with the voice of Majida El Roumi echoing in her mind: “Oumi men taht el radem”, (Rise from under the rubble).

Instead of sketching a clear blue sky behind her, I chose to draw a large Lebanese flag. Not as a symbol of nationalism, but of unity. It’s quiet, bold, and stands as a reminder that even in the darkest moments, Lebanon still lives.

This poster Beirut is not easy to look at. But it holds meaning.

Here’s why I believe it deserves a place in your home:

- It honors a painful truth. This memorial poster reminds us of what we’ve been through, and the strength that grew from that pain.
- It gives silent strength. This landmark print might not shout, but it speaks. A reminder that Beirut was shaken, but never erased.
- It mirrors what any Lebanese feels. Whether you're here or abroad, this Beirut artwork reflects our shared emotions: sadness, resilience, hope for better days and most importantly, strength! It’s especially close to the hearts of expats who carry Lebanon with them wherever they go.

This piece is part of my Lebanon wall art and poster prints collection, created with care for people who want something meaningful, not just decorative. If you're searching for art prints or memorial artwork that tell real stories, this piece might speak to you, too.

To every Lebanese abroad: just like this statue, you carry the weight of memory, but also the light of hope and strength!

Let this artwork remind you, you’re still part of Beirut’s story. And Beirut is still part of yours.
